The Caran d'Ache Water Reservoir Brush Pen Medium is the precision-focused configuration of the water brush range — built for detailed illustration, controlled watercolor work, botanical drawing, calligraphy, and tight field sketching where line weight variation and moisture control matter. The finely pointed, high-flex synthetic tip is fed by a 20ml clear flexible barrel via a soft-touch push-valve, delivering water flow regulated down to the drop. The tip snaps back cleanly to a sharp point after every stroke and resists pigment staining during extended mixed-media sessions.

Compatible with the full range of water-soluble Caran d'Ache media — Supracolor Soft and Museum Aquarelle watercolor pencils, Neocolor II crayons, Technalo water-soluble graphite — as well as traditional pan watercolors, liquid inks, and gouache. For broad background washes and expressive coverage, the Large tip version is the better fit. A leak-proof protective cap keeps the tip in shape between uses.

  • How do you clean the brush tip after use? Squeeze clean water through the tip until it runs clear, then wipe the filaments gently with a clean cloth. The synthetic filaments resist pigment staining and return to their original pointed shape after cleaning.
