The large tip format uses a wide fiber cluster designed for expressive painterly strokes and fast background coverage — the right choice when speed and broad coverage matter more than fine detail. For detail work and controlled line weight variation, the Medium tip version is the better fit. Compatible with the full range of water-soluble Caran d'Ache media including Supracolor Soft and Museum Aquarelle watercolor pencils, Neocolor II crayons, Technalo water-soluble graphite, traditional pan watercolors, liquid inks, gouache, and silk painting. The synthetic filaments hold their shape over time and clean instantly with a quick squeeze and wipe. A leak-proof click-cap keeps the tip protected between sessions.

- What is the Large tip suited for? The wide fiber cluster is designed for broad background washes, expressive coverage, and fast wet-area work — the right choice when speed and broad stroke width matter more than fine detail or precise line control.
- How is the water flow controlled? A soft-touch squeeze zone on the barrel activates a precision internal valve, releasing water directly into the brush tip. Light pressure delivers a small controlled amount — heavier pressure increases flow for wetter, broader strokes.
- How do you refill the reservoir? Remove the brush tip from the barrel, fill with clean water, and reassemble. The transparent barrel makes it easy to monitor the remaining water level during use.
- Is it compatible with pigmented inks or only water? The reservoir is designed to hold clean water only. Filling it with ink or liquid pigment risks clogging the internal valve and permanently staining the synthetic filaments.
