The Moleskine A4 Aquarelle Book is a professional watercolor album in a landscape portrait format — 30 sheets of 200 g/m² cold-pressed paper with 25% cotton content, built for multi-layered wet-on-wet techniques, ink washes, and fluid media blending without fiber pilling or tearing. The cotton fiber content is the key technical distinction from standard cellulose watercolor pads — it provides superior water absorption, allows cleaner pigment lifting, and holds its structural integrity significantly better under sustained wet media application.

Cold-pressed texture runs identically on both sides of each sheet, making panoramic spreads across facing pages seamless in both surface feel and absorbency. The landscape orientation suits cinematic compositions, cityscape panoramas, and wide botanical layouts. Thread-bound hardcover with rounded corners keeps the album rigid and flat during drying sessions. Acid-free, pH-neutral, FSC certified.

Common Questions
  • What does 25% cotton content mean for watercolor performance? Cotton fibers absorb water more evenly and hold more moisture than pure cellulose paper, allowing longer working time for wet blending and cleaner pigment lifting before the surface dries. It also provides stronger dimensional stability — the sheet warps and buckles less under heavy water than standard cellulose stock at the same weight.
  • Can both sides of each sheet be used for painting? Yes. The cold-pressed texture is identical on both faces of every sheet — both sides perform equally for watercolor and gouache work, effectively doubling the usable painting surfaces per album.
